February 10, 2015-- Girls Who Code Club. Johns Hopkins Laboratory Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) STEM Education Program, Laurel, MD, 4:30 to 6:30pm. The mission of the Girls Who Code program is to inspire, educate, and equip middle and high school girls with the computing skills to pursue 21st-century opportunities. New participants will learn the very basics of coding and computer programming and those with experience can increase their understanding and skills. No experience required. February 28, 2015-- Discover Engineering Family Day. National Building Museum (NBM), 401 F Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 10:00am to 4:30pm. FREE Drop-in program ($5.00 donation suggested). Become an engineer for a day! The National Building Museum and the National Engineers Week Foundation invite you to participating in this free, hands-on, and fun-filled festival. Debunk the myths of engineering and discover how professional engineers turn ideas into reality.

Explore thermodynamics, electricity, aerodynamics, and more with engineers at more than 25 activity tables and demonstrations made especially for kids ages 6 to 12 with adult supervision.
